Manuscript typing

I undertake all kinds of copy typing work, whether it be a single page letter to a large manuscript or dissertation. Whatever the size, all projects receive exactly the same commitment and attention to detail. You can be assured that all my copy typing work is fully proofread and returned to you promptly and perfectly polished and presented. I work from either handwritten or typed sources. You can mail your work to me or send me a scanned image which can be sent via email attachment. I can convert handwriting, words on images, or hard print (books, journals, letters, etc.) into editable text.

Standard rate: $0.05 per word (for clear source, good handwriting or good quality hard print)
Difficult source, poor handwriting or print, or highly technical terminology may require additional charges, generally an additional 25%. (Note: Quality of source could affect actual turn around time, and results.)

I can accept most digital audio file types, including MP3, WAV, WMA and many more. You can use my service one time or on a more regular weekly or monthly basis for your dictation, or whenever you need service. Whatever the size of your project, each project will receive exactly the same time and attention to detail. My audio-transcription rates are not charged by the hour but are based upon the length in minutes of your audio file, making it easy to quote each job. Transcription is a highly skilled and specialised area — on average transcribing takes four times as long as the original audio recording length. For example, your one hour long audio may take four hours to transcribe correctly. I have experience transcribing oral histories, courtroom testimony, counseling sessions, marketing focus groups, interviews, and many others.

1 Speaker: $2.00 per minute of audio record time
Up to 3 speakers: $2.50/minute
Multiple speakers: $3.00/minute
Poor quality or difficult to understand audio, highly technical terminology, or 'strict verbatim' style, may require additional charges, generally an additional 25%.
(Note: Quality of audio source could affect actual turn around time and transcription results.)
